Biblical “science” or creation “science” or “intelligent” design all attempt to put forth the same idea. That somehow despite total lack of evidence for their claims and complete disregard for the scientific method that they are somehow more scientific than science itself. We at Reality Crowd intend to examine this issue extensively as it is at the heart of what we are discussing here. Creationists, not content to have everyone accept their claims “on faith” (a rather dubious proposal) have now turned to the language of science to try to promote their ideas. The only problem is they occasionally run into real scientists:
For those who don’t recognize the voice, that is creationist Kent Hovind. The main point that we can get from this exchange is that creationists seem to have no concrete examples of what their “science” is for. It doesn’t make any reliable predictions about anything, nor does it describe in a useful way the way the physical systems of the universe work. Creationist’s version of science is merely attempting to shoehorn biblical passages into compatibility with what we know about the physical universe (but mostly the other way around).

Belief in God is obviously based on faith. And this makes people uncomfortable that they can neither prove or disprove His existance. Science, on the other hand, is thought to be fact based. The problem is that science, in the agnostic sense, keeps proving itself wrong. Science has determined that the earth is hundreds of millions years old. The human eye, alone, would have taken 250-300 millions of years to evolve. The problem is that science has also determined that carbon 14 exists in all living matter, and that its existance could not have been present for more than 25,000 years. For the big bang theory to be true, the universe would have to be many billions years old. And yet we learn that the blue stars, one of the three types of stars, of which there are billions, maybe trillions, burns too hot (11,000 degrees centigrade) to have been able to exist for anywhere near that long. Science embarrassed itself in 1922 with the Nebraska man. Where is science when a catagory 5 tornado, also known as the finger of God, destroys everything in its wake? Has anybody heard or seen a request for “darwin help us” in the aftermath. Are there ever any “atheist in a foxhole?” In times of trauma, God’s existance is rarely questioned. That is because the situation dictates that there is actually is a higher power than mankind. And without traumas, agnostic science arrogantly declares that it is the highest power.
Don’t misunderstand, when God and science are combined, science can be a beautiful thing. Just look what science has found through the Hubble telescope… a star configuration science calls… The Eye of God!
